HIV
This track will address key questions in contemporary HIV research including behavioral science research to improve outcomes along the HIV treatment and prevention continuum and bring HIV implementation to scale in order to achieve impact at the population level.
Examples of science to be supported, but not limited to:
- Studies capitalizing on comprehensive patient data through multi-country service program that provide broad clinical scope and extensive longitudinal follow-up.
- Collaborative, interdisciplinary research integrating cutting-edge behavioral science, especially adherence, mental health, qualitative methods, and intervention evaluation
- Rapid access to study participants living with HIV, biologic specimens linked to comprehensive clinical data and HIV-uninfected controls; collect new types of specimens to support emerging translational research.
Examples of catalytic activities to be provided, but not limited to:
- Form multidisciplinary working groups of scholars to design multi-country implementation science studies of the roll-out of evidence-based HIV prevention and treatment interventions to address the needs of the most vulnerable groups.

Associate Professor of Pediatrics at UMB and Senior Technical Advisor for Pediatric and Adolescent HIV, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria
Dr. Sam-Agudu focuses on implementation science for sustainable health interventions in African countries, including HIV and sexual and reproductive health among adolescents and young women. She is a member of the NIH/Fogarty Adolescent HIV Prevention and Treatment Implementation Science Alliance (AHISA). She also provides technical expertise to the WHO as a member of the Pediatric ART Working Group, and co-chair of the Adolescent HIV Service Delivery Working Group.
