Modesty Obasohan
Ms. Obasohan will spend her fellowship year at University of Ghana/Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana under the mentorship of Yvonne Dei-Adomako, MBBS, FWACP and Cheryl Hillery, MD, and Busola Oluwole, MD, MS Amma Owusu-Ansah, MD, Charles Jonaissant, PhD, MHS, and Catherine Segbefia, MBChB. Her research will focus on Assessment of pain and patient reported outcomes in Ghanaian adolescents and young adults with sickle cell disease using a novel pain assessment tool.
Ms. Obasohan is a Medical Student at University of Pennsylvania. Her career goal is to become a physician-researcher in hematology/oncology with research and clinical interests in global medicine and health equity. She is Nigerian-American; As an undergraduate, she participated in wet-lab and clinical research, and studied abroad for a semester in Mexico. In medical school, Ms. Obasohan engaged in global health through remote research with the Botswana-UPenn partnership and serving as an executive board member on the Penn Global Surgery Group.
