Nokwanda Kota
Dr. Kota will spend her fellowship year at Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation Eswatini in Eswatini under the mentorship of Alexander Kay, MD, Simon Zwane, MBBS, Alice Zwerling, PhD, Msc, Bsc, Jean Raphael, MD and Anna Mandalakas, MD, PhD. Her re-search will focus on the economic burden of Tuberculosis disease on patients with co-morbid HIV and Non-communicable disease in eSwatini. Her primary focus will be to identify the drivers of catastrophic health expenditures in TB/HIV/NCD co-morbidity.
Dr. Kota is a clinician and junior researcher in the Global TB Program at Baylor Children's Foundation-eSwatini. Dr. Kota is a Fulbright alumna whose career interests lie in the use health economics and health policy research to drive health policy reform in eSwatini and Southern Africa.
